I am Tamar Everson.

Hacker Coder Educator

Tamar Everson has been involved in the Cyber Security industry since 2012, when he first joined Glasgow Caledonian University as a digital security student. He quickly established himself in this new world of computer attack and defence, getting involved in events such as the Cyber Security Challenge UK, conferences such as OWASP Scotland, and the Scottish Business Resiliance Centre's Cyber Security Breakfast meetups. Getting involved in all these events alongside his studies allowed Tamar to quickly learn the fundamentals of penetration testing, and of the wider cyber security industry.

In his second year of university, Tamar established the GCU Ethical Hacking Society in order to spread knowledge of basic cyber security hygiene, and to help develop both his security skills, and those within the wider community. This led to him organising events such as NASA's Space Apps Challenge, and conducting an interview for STV's lunchtime news.

Tamar has been working full time as a penetration tester and security consultant since 2017, and regularly develops materials such as cheat sheets for common tools, labs to practice various offensive security techniques, and other training materials to both help him in his day-to-day job, and to help those looking to pick up the ropes of the industry to succeed.
